Braided Tails by Evelyn Pyne

I started Braided Tails in March 2011 after I wanted to make my mom something special to remember her horse by. I have made horsehair jewelry and keepsakes since then for horse lovers from all around the US and Canada. In the Spring of 2019, I had to make the tough decision to stop taking custom orders as priorities changed and life got busy. My hopes were to continue making keepsakes to support local equine rescues, which I started, but soon realized I didn’t have time.

Later that Spring, I met Ashleigh at one of the equine fundraising events, and it was there that we soon both realized it was fate! When Ashleigh asked me if she could make her something from her horse I kindly declined but offered to show her how. Ashleigh’s interest to learn was the perfect opportunity to offer her the business so Braided Tails would not be done, but instead, it would have a new life!

I’m currently teaching Ashleigh everything I know and we are accepting custom orders again! Ashleigh will also continue making key chains from rescued horses and offering them on Etsy. 50% of all sales will go back to the organization. They save their lives and we help save their memories! This is our way of giving back to what is close to our hearts.
